Zdeněk Petzl has been the executive director of the Automotive Industry Association since 2016, where he actively defends the interests of member companies and participates in the creation of programs and policies supporting the automotive industry, the most important industry in the Czech Republic. From his previous diplomatic work at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, he brings knowledge of the functioning of state administration, understanding of European law and management of legislative procedures in Prague and Brussels. He also gained valuable experience in leading and organizing the work of a team of lawyers as a chief lawyer in the Office of the Government Plenipotentiary for Representation of the Czech Republic before the EU Court of Justice and Legal Adviser to the Ambassador for Internal Market at the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the EU. Zdeněk Petzl graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University and the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and completed postgraduate studies in European law with a focus on the internal market at the Technical University of Dresden.
