Radka Vladyková has been working as the executive director of the Union of Towns and Municipalities of the Czech Republic (SMOČR) since February 2019. The main goal of her work for SMOČR is and will be maintaining and strengthening the unique position of the Union in the field of public administration, as an apolitical non-governmental organization that covers most cities and towns in the Czech Republic. It provides its members with professional background and is a recognized and respected partner for third parties. In the years 2014–2018, Radka Vladyková worked as a mayor in the town of Jesenice near Prague with a population of 10,000. As part of her position, she established many contacts with state administration workers, politicians, and experts. She has been interested in the issue of local self-government for almost 12 years. To better understand legislation, she studied at the Metropolitan University in Prague, where in 2016 she also earned her master’s degree in European studies and public administration. In 2020, she received the SMART CITY Personality award, specifically for promoting the Smart Cities and Municipalities ecosystem on the grounds of the SMOČR. She also worked as a producer at the ABF Foundation for the Development of Architecture and Construction.
