Pavla Majerová, Makro Cash & Carry ČR

Pavla Majerová studied management at the Faculty of Economics and Administration of the Masaryk University in Brno. She has been in retail/wholesale basically her entire professional life. She first worked at Ahold for 16 years, where she started in a store as a trainee store manager, and she gradually worked her way up to the role of regional director. Until then, she had seen logistics from the position of an internal customer. She admits that she was not at all excited about the offer to become the director of the distribution center at first, because she had no idea how much she would come to love logistics. So, for four years, she managed the distribution center of Albert in Klecany, which she managed to stabilize, and then for two years she was responsible for the Replenishment department. Since 2015, she has been part of the Makro team, and she played a role in the decision that Makro should open its own distribution center. Before the distribution center opened, she went on a two-year maternity leave, returning at the end of 2019, and since then she has been responsible for the development of Makro’s logistics in the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
